For many years, Morterm handled large volumes of bulk materials from deep-sea vessels, particularly large volumes of fluorspar. This material was “clammed” from the ships’ holds for reloading to trucks with front-end loaders for delivery.

The discharge rate was almost 500 metric tones per hour.
Discharging operations are conducted twelve hours per day,
six days per week at straight-time rates.
Once again, the size of the terminal facilities readily
accommodates large-scale operations of this sort.
